Welcome to Women of Type

Hello and welcome to the first ever Women of Type blog post! 


Allow me to start by saying how grateful I am to have founded and to be a part of this community. I started Women of Type after seeing a hole in the market for a place that female identifying typography and lettering artists can call their own. I played with the idea of creating the Instagram page for a little over a year, and when Covid hit, it finally allowed me to press go on this idea. In just a few months, and what feels like overnight, this community has blown up from zero to nearly thirty four thousand members!!!! (That is at the time of writing this).

Now, Women of Type is expanding outside the walls of social media, and I am both humbled and excited to create, curate and grow this space where we, as artists, can express ourselves through the lens of artistic text and lettering. I have big plans for this community and hope to slowly but surely bring my vision to life.

We’ll be talking about freelance culture, building your creative biz, meeting and showcasing creatives, and adding more to that list and this space continues to grow.


Lastly, and certainly not least - I want to thank you. Thank you for not only being part of this community, but the purpose and drive for it to exist. Women of Type only exists because of and for the wonderful, beautiful and creative humans that make it up. Thank you for being a part of this, and thank you for being my reason.
